The role

OpenTrain is recruiting emergency medicine physicians for a one-time, text-based study (survey or short interview) about clinical decision-making, triage, patient stabilization, and ED management. Selected participants may be invited to separate follow-up surveys or short tasks.

This is contract, part-time work paid hourly. The study collects text responses and expert commentary to inform model training and evaluation.

• Pay: $115.00 USD per hour (hourly contractor rate).
• Estimated commitment: listed as 20+ hours/week; tasks start with a one-time survey or interview and may include follow-up work if offered.
• Location: US-based clinicians only; English required.

What you'll do

Provide concise, experienced descriptions of how you recognize, evaluate, stabilize, and disposition patients in urgent care and emergency department settings. Work is text-focused and will ask you to explain decision points and typical actions.

• Complete a one-time online survey or participate in a short interview about your emergency medicine practice.
• Describe triage decisions, immediate stabilization steps, and disposition reasoning for urgent presentations.
• Answer follow-up questions or short tasks if invited after the initial study.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the core clinical requirements below. We will verify eligibility during screening to ensure responses come from active, experienced emergency physicians.

• Minimum 4+ years practicing emergency medicine.
• Current work in emergency medicine, or recent practice within the past 12 months.
• Direct, hands-on knowledge of triage, clinical decision-making, and patient stabilization.
• U.S.-based emergency medicine background and fluency in English.
• Comfort explaining clinical reasoning in writing or in a short recorded interview.

Payment is hourly at $115 USD and processed per the contractor terms you accept when you join the project.
