The Work
You will turn specialized electronics quality judgment into clear evaluations, reports, and training data. The work covers manufacturing files, physical and visual inspection results, defect analysis, counterfeit components, and semiconductor package testing.
- Review PCB CAM and Gerber files for manufacturability, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
- Perform IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 visual inspections of PCB assemblies and wire harness builds.
- Analyze SMT and AOI defect types, identify false calls, and assess root causes and remediation options.
- Evaluate counterfeit electronic parts using AS6081 risk indicators and mitigation principles.
- Interpret C-SAM and X-ray inspection results for semiconductor packages, including die inspection and MIL-STD-883 checks.
- Prepare concise reports and explain findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Help refine AI training workflows and datasets.

This is a remote, part-time contractor opportunity. The listing is marked entry level, but the required technical background includes at least eight years of hands-on experience in electronics quality, CAM engineering, or failure analysis.

- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication for documenting and explaining technical findings.
- Preferred: IPC CIS or CIT certification.
- AI experience: Prior AI training or data-labeling experience is not required.
