About AI Safety Evaluation

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Contributors help models improve by writing examples, evaluating responses, classifying content, and providing careful feedback on how systems handle complex or sensitive situations.

In this role, your language expertise and judgment will help assess how AI models respond to sensitive topics in Croatian. Your evaluations can support safer, more reliable model behavior while giving you hands-on experience in a growing technology field.

The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Croatian AI Safety Evaluator for a remote contract assignment. You will write expert-level prompts in Croatian, evaluate prompts and conversations across sensitive subject areas, and explain your judgments using structured project guidelines.

The default commitment is 7 hours per week, with less than 20 hours per week overall. The project is expected to start immediately. Applicants based in Eastern Europe are preferred, but this role is open worldwide.

What You'll Do

You will assess written AI interactions for safety, cultural appropriateness, and potential escalation. The work requires consistent decisions, close attention to wording, and clear documentation that another reviewer can understand.

• Write expert-level prompts in Croatian across sensitive subject areas
• Classify prompts and conversations using structured guidelines
• Identify adversarial phrasing and escalation patterns
• Flag dual-use information and other safety concerns
• Document the reasoning behind evaluation judgments
• Communicate decisions in business-level written English

Requirements

Native or near-native Croatian fluency and business-level written English are required. You must also have a bachelor's degree, either completed or in progress, along with strong written reasoning, careful attention to detail, and sound judgment when working with sensitive or dual-use information.
