The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Corporate Legal Document Review Attorney for a remote US contractor project. You will review and create legal content for AI training, assess AI-generated legal responses, and help establish quality standards for complex legal data.

The project is listed as entry level, but it requires a JD, an active US law license, and three to fifteen years of substantive experience in corporate law, litigation, bankruptcy, or compliance.

• Pay: $90–$150 per hour
• Work arrangement: Contractor and part time
• Time requirement: 20 or more hours per week

What You’ll Do

You will combine legal analysis, structured annotation, scenario writing, and quality evaluation to support AI model development. The work includes translating complex legal principles into clear, structured formats suitable for computational use and communicating technical legal topics to multidisciplinary teams.

• Analyze, review, and annotate legal documents across corporate, litigation, bankruptcy, and compliance domains
• Draft realistic legal scenarios, research memos, and hypothetical case studies involving complex legal concepts
• Evaluate AI-generated legal content for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with US law
• Provide corrections and actionable feedback on AI-generated responses
• Contribute to guidelines and quality standards for legal data used in AI training
• Identify legal trends and risk areas relevant to AI applications through collaborative discussions

Required Qualifications

This role requires strong legal expertise and the ability to apply professional judgment to complex documents and AI-generated content. Prior AI experience is not required; legal domain knowledge is central to the project.

• JD from an accredited US law school
• Active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction
• Three to fifteen years of substantive experience in corporate law, litigation, bankruptcy, or compliance
• Experience analyzing and annotating complex legal documents
• Ability to evaluate legal content for accuracy and compliance with US law
• Strong legal research, writing, reasoning, analytical, and verbal communication skills
• US-based independent practitioner
