The Role

OpenTrain is hiring a Corporate Law AI Trainer (contractor) to review, analyze, and annotate corporate, commercial, and M&A documents so AI systems can learn from structured human expertise.

This is a remote, part-time contractor role requiring 20+ hours per week. Compensation range is $90–$150 per hour; pay is hourly (PAY_PER_HOUR). Work will focus on DOCUMENT data and include EVALUATION_RATING and TEXT_GENERATION labeling tasks.

What You'll Do

Provide detailed, practitioner-level analysis and feedback on corporate and commercial legal materials so training datasets reflect real-world legal reasoning and clear explanations.

• Evaluate corporate, commercial, and M&A documents for accuracy, enforceability, and U.S. law compliance
• Draft, review, and annotate contracts, policies, and agreements to reflect best practices in corporate law
• Identify and summarize key legal issues, negotiation points, and risk areas in transactions
• Contribute real-world scenarios, case studies, and document examples to improve dataset variety and realism
• Write precise explanations and highlight nuanced legal language for both model training and evaluator guidance

Requirements

Candidates must meet the legal and professional qualifications listed below. We preserve all substantive requirements from the role description.

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• Experience in corporate, business, or transactional law (including M&A, contracts, and risk management)
• Proven ability to review and draft commercial agreements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
• Familiarity with U.S. commercial and regulatory compliance requirements
• Ability to work independently as a remote contractor and follow project guidelines consistently
• Fluent in English; work limited to residents of the United States
