About AI Training and Legal AI Review

AI training is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. Legal professionals help improve these systems by reviewing model-generated content, comparing alternative responses, and explaining which outputs are accurate, complete, and useful.

This engagement combines substantive legal analysis with structured human-preference evaluation, giving an experienced attorney a direct role in shaping how legal AI handles transaction-focused work.

The Role

OpenTrain AI is hiring a Corporate and Capital Markets AI Review Attorney for a blinded human-preference study supporting legal AI training. You will examine realistic synthetic legal matters and their underlying documents, then evaluate AI-generated legal deliverables across corporate, capital markets, and venture transactions.

The project is listed as entry level, but it requires qualification as a lawyer and substantive experience with relevant legal matters. This is a remote contract engagement with approximately 24 hours of work across the engagement.

  • Work remotely as an independent contractor
  • Expected commitment of 20 hours per week
  • Hourly rate of $100 to $120
  • Work conducted in English
  • Worldwide opportunity

What You’ll Do

You will follow written evaluation instructions and apply careful legal judgment to blinded AI-generated work products. Each comparison should reflect a holistic assessment rather than a decision based on only one issue.

  • Read synthetic legal matters and the documents underlying them
  • Review six blinded AI-generated legal deliverables labeled A through F
  • Make five head-to-head comparisons against a common comparator output
  • Record a preference for each comparison
  • Write a short, specific rationale for every preference
  • Assess correctness, completeness, judgment, and usefulness
  • Protect confidential project materials
  • Work independently and meet the defined deadline

Required Qualifications

This role requires precise legal reasoning and the ability to evaluate transaction-related work product as a practicing attorney. You should be comfortable explaining comparative judgments clearly in written English.

  • Qualification as a lawyer
  • Substantive practice experience in corporate, capital markets, or venture matters
  • Ability to review acqui-hire merger matters and seller disclosure schedules
  • Experience with Rule 144A or Reg S closing opinions, or Series B venture financing opinions
  • Ability to judge legal work product holistically
  • Strong written English and precise legal reasoning
  • Ability to apply written instructions consistently
  • Independent execution and reliable deadline management

Confidentiality and Project Conditions

All project work is covered by a nondisclosure agreement. External AI tools must not be used with project materials. You will be expected to handle the synthetic matters, underlying documents, and evaluation outputs according to the project’s written instructions.

  • NDA required for all project work
  • Do not use external AI tools with project materials
  • Follow confidentiality and handling requirements throughout the engagement
