About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help people discover projects, build a unified AI training portfolio, and grow a durable freelance career in the human side of AI — all from a single account.

OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. This is a remote, contract opportunity that connects your circuit design expertise directly to teams training and evaluating AI systems.

About AI Training Work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is how modern AI systems learn from human examples. Tasks include evaluating technical content, rating model outputs, reviewing documentation, and creating high-quality labeled data that guides model behavior.

This role focuses on engineering-domain work: your real-world circuit design knowledge will be used to evaluate, rate, and improve model responses and documentation related to analog/digital circuits, simulation, PCB layout, and hardware validation.

The Role

You will work as a Circuit Design AI Trainer contributing domain expertise to AI training and evaluation workflows. The primary data you'll review is technical documentation and model outputs (DOCUMENT) and you will provide evaluation ratings and technical feedback (EVALUATION_RATING).

This is a part-time contractor role requiring 20+ hours per week, paid hourly at $60–$120 USD. Work is remote and open to contributors worldwide; English proficiency is required.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
  • Time commitment: 20+ hours/week
  • Pay: $60–$120 USD per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR)
  • Data type: DOCUMENT — label type: EVALUATION_RATING
  • Language: English

What You'll Do

Apply your circuit design knowledge to rate, correct, and evaluate model-generated technical content, schematics, and design recommendations. Your feedback will directly shape how AI systems handle real-world engineering problems.

  • Design and review analog and digital electronic circuits used as reference material and evaluation cases.
  • Run and interpret circuit simulations (SPICE, LTspice, Cadence) to validate technical claims in documents and model responses.
  • Examine schematics and PCB layouts for correctness and manufacturability; provide clear ratings and improvement suggestions.
  • Test, debug, and validate hardware procedures and document outcomes to create high-quality labeled examples.
  • Apply signal integrity and power-management best practices when assessing content.
  • Produce concise technical documentation and evaluation notes for each task.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the technical requirements below. The role lists an entry-level experience level but requires proven hands-on skills as described; include examples of your work in your application when possible.

  • Analog and digital circuit design experience (proven practical work).
  • Proficiency with SPICE, LTspice, and Cadence for simulation and analysis.
  • Schematic capture and PCB design/layout expertise.
  • Hands-on hardware testing, debugging, and validation experience.
  • Solid understanding of signal integrity and power management principles.
  • Experience with MATLAB for data analysis and modeling.
  • Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts in English.

Helpful Background

These qualifications are not required but will strengthen your application and the impact of your contributions.

  • Mixed-signal or RF circuit design experience.
  • Experience supporting end-to-end hardware product development.
  • Prior work producing technical reports, test plans, or validation protocols.

Who Should Apply

Experienced circuit designers, hardware engineers, and engineering graduates who enjoy translating practical engineering judgment into clear evaluations and feedback should apply. This role is well suited to people who want flexible, remote, part-time contract work and who take pride in precise technical communication.

How It Works

Apply with your OpenTrain profile and examples of relevant circuit design work. Tasks are delivered as short labeling/evaluation jobs that you complete in a web-based workflow. Each assignment will ask you to read technical content or model outputs, run any necessary simulations or checks, then submit ratings and written feedback.

OpenTrain provides project-specific instructions and quality checks. You control your availability and can scale your hours across projects while building a portfolio of AI training contributions.

  • Work is remote and flexible; pick tasks that fit your schedule.
  • You will rate and comment on DOCUMENT-type content using evaluation ratings.
  • Compensation is hourly at the rate range listed; final pay per task is determined by project settings.
