The role
As an Electrical Engineering Quality Assurance Lead you will review AI-generated electrical engineering content and trainer QA work for accuracy, clarity, and consistency. You will assess circuit analysis, calculations, design recommendations, troubleshooting workflows, standards awareness, unit consistency, and safety considerations.
You will also provide written feedback, maintain project documentation, support onboarding, and help contributors and trainers stay aligned with evolving engineering guidelines.
Contractor, part-time: 20+ hours per week.
Pay: $105 per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR, USD).
Work focus: text-based evaluation and RLHF-style rating (data type: TEXT; label types: EVALUATION_RATING, RLHF).
Location: Remote; role restricted to candidates in the US; English required.
What you'll do day-to-day
You will evaluate technical content produced by models and by trainers against detailed rubrics and engineering standards. Reviews must catch incorrect assumptions, calculation errors, unsafe recommendations, and missing units or unclear reasoning.
You will also help run and improve QA workflows, maintain examples and calibration tasks, and support onboarding for remote contributors through documentation and calls.
Review circuit analyses, diagrams, calculations, and troubleshooting steps for correctness and safety.
Provide precise written feedback on calculations, assumptions, unit consistency, and design logic.
Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, honeypots, and calibration tasks.
Flag recurring quality issues and recommend improvements to QA workflows.
Support onboarding and training calls for remote contributors and trainers.
Requirements
You must have formal electrical engineering education, hands-on technical experience, and strong written English communication skills to explain correctness and give actionable feedback.
OpenTrain values prior experience with AI training or rubric-based evaluation, but the core requirement is depth in electrical engineering and the ability to evaluate technical explanations precisely.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering, power engineering, telecommunications engineering, or a closely related field.
3+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering or related technical review work.
Strong knowledge of circuit analysis, electronics, electromagnetics, signals and systems, power systems, control systems, and electrical safety.
Excellent English communication and attention to detail.
Experience with AI training, rubric-based evaluation, technical content QA, or remote team coordination is highly valued.
