The role

As an Electrical Systems AI Reviewer you will use your real-world electrical and field-operations expertise to evaluate technical documentation and model responses. The main goal is to assess accuracy, clarity, and practical usefulness of content such as schematics, wiring diagrams, inspection reports, and troubleshooting guidance.

• Contract type: Contractor, Part-time.
• Time commitment: 20+ hours per week.
• Work is remote, asynchronous, and worldwide (English required).
• Labeling/data type: Document review with evaluation ratings and question-answering tasks.

What you'll do

You will read and evaluate technical documents and model-generated responses, explain where content is correct or incorrect, and suggest clearer, safer, or more practical wording. Work is delivered asynchronously through OpenTrain workflows.

• Analyze and explain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation.
• Review and validate equipment layouts, inspection reports, operational procedures, and technical manuals.
• Evaluate troubleshooting scenarios and document solutions using industry best practices.
• Identify information gaps and recommend clearer, non-expert-friendly explanations.
• Provide structured ratings and written feedback as part of evaluation and Q&A labeling tasks.

Requirements

You must have hands-on or professional experience with electrical systems, control systems, automation, instrumentation, or field operations and be comfortable interpreting visually dense technical documents. Strong written communication and attention to detail are essential for producing clear feedback for model training.

• Background in electrical systems, control systems, automation, instrumentation, or field operations.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Experience reviewing technical documentation or troubleshooting electrical issues.
• Excellent written communication to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Comfort working remotely and contributing asynchronously.

Helpful background (not required)

Prior roles that map well to this work include Electrical Engineer, Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer, Instrumentation Engineer, Electrician, or Maintenance Supervisor. Experience in technical documentation review, process optimization, or field data analysis will help you succeed.

Logistics & pay

This is a contract, part-time role with a typical commitment of 20+ hours per week. Pay is hourly at USD 40–50/hr, billed and paid through OpenTrain according to project terms. Tasks focus on document evaluation and question-answering labels.
