AI training is the human side of building intelligent systems. Your pronunciation coaching helps AI models understand and produce natural Chinese speech, improving accessibility and real-world performance. Many projects are remote, flexible, and open to contributors without prior AI experience.

The Role

As a Chinese Voice Coach you will evaluate learner audio, give individualized pronunciation and tone guidance, and create lesson materials tailored to diverse learners. This is a contract, part-time role (less than 20 hours/week) that you can do remotely. Your assessments will often use evaluation-rating tasks on audio data to measure progress.

What You'll Do

• Provide individualized coaching in Chinese pronunciation, tone, and intonation for learners at varying skill levels.
• Assess learner recordings and deliver actionable evaluation ratings and written/verbal feedback to drive improvement.
• Develop and facilitate remote voice training sessions (Zoom/Teams) and adapt pacing to each learner's needs.
• Design engaging lesson materials and exercises using written notes and recorded examples.
• Track learner progress, adjust coaching strategies, and collaborate with the project team to refine methods.

Required Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) with clear pronunciation.
• Demonstrated experience in voice coaching, language instruction, or a closely related field.
• Strong understanding of Mandarin phonetics, linguistic nuances, and voice-projection techniques.
• Proficiency with remote communication and collaboration tools such as Zoom or Teams.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple sessions and deliver consistent feedback.

Helpful Background (Nice to Have)

• Experience in performing arts, linguistics, speech therapy, or certified Chinese-language instruction.
• Experience working with international or multicultural learners or teams.
• Prior experience providing structured lesson plans and measurable progress tracking.

Compensation & Schedule

This is a contractor, part-time role paid hourly. Pay range is USD 30–65 per hour, with top rate up to USD 65/hr. Expect to work less than 20 hours per week and set schedules that fit your availability.

How It Works / Who Should Apply
