About AI training and voice work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is the human side of building modern AI. For voice systems this means listening, directing, and evaluating audio so models learn accurate pronunciation, regional accents, emotional tone, and natural delivery.

This work is often remote and flexible, a great fit for voice professionals who want part-time, project-based work that directly shapes how AI speaks and sounds.

The role

We are recruiting an English Voice Coach to direct and assess AI-generated voice performances. You will evaluate accuracy, authenticity, expressiveness, and guide models on accents, dialects, pronunciation, modulation, and emotional delivery. You will provide written and verbal feedback, document best practices, and support focused mini-pilot sessions to improve synthesis quality.

  • Position type: Contractor, part-time (less than 20 hours/week).
  • Work location: Remote — worldwide (English required).
  • Pay: Hourly compensation in USD, range $30–$65 per hour.

What you'll do

  • Direct and assess AI-generated voice performances for accuracy and expressiveness.
  • Advise on accents and regional dialect rendering for voice models.
  • Refine guidance on pronunciation, intonation, modulation, and emotional delivery.
  • Provide real-time feedback and targeted improvement strategies to engineers and voice teams.
  • Produce written and verbal analyses documenting voice outputs, progress, and best practices.
  • Support intensive mini-pilot sessions and uphold project quality standards.

Requirements

  • Proven professional experience as a voice coach.
  • Experience with voice acting and directing for audio or media projects.
  • Practical knowledge of accents and regional dialects in English.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear, actionable feedback.
  • Solid understanding of phonetics, speech patterns, and linguistic nuances.
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • No prior experience with AI is required.

Helpful background

  • Experience coaching or consulting on AI or voice synthesis projects.
  • Familiarity with audio description, accessibility, or educational content production.
  • Background in linguistics, speech-language pathology, or related fields.
