The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Chart and Data Visualization AI Training Expert to create rigorous training tasks from domain-specific charts, graphs, and data visualizations. You will help improve AI reasoning by turning information-rich visual data into objectively answerable questions, accurate solutions, and detailed explanations.

What You’ll Do

You will transform complex visual data into structured analytical tasks that test meaningful reasoning rather than guesswork. Each task should be clear, objective, appropriately challenging, and supported by the information shown in the source visualization.

You will collaborate remotely and asynchronously with coordinators and reviewers while maintaining high standards for accuracy, clarity, and technical communication.

• Interpret complex charts and graphs using accurate domain terminology.
• Design questions involving multi-step reasoning, calculations, comparisons, and trend analysis.
• Produce precise answers with step-by-step explanations of the reasoning and calculations.
• Account for data series, annotations, units, axes, scales, legends, confidence intervals, and time periods.
• Review tasks for clarity, objectivity, appropriate complexity, and unsupported conclusions.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in medicine, finance, engineering, earth science, data science, operations, or another related quantitative field is preferred. Relevant advanced education, professional credentials, or specialized industry expertise is helpful.

You should be able to analyze charts with multiple data series, annotations, and statistical features, then communicate calculations and conclusions clearly in written and verbal English. Experience creating technical assessments, benchmark questions, or structured analytical tasks is valuable.
