The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Castilian Spanish Audio Transcript Editor to review and correct AI-generated audio transcripts with word-level precision. You will help improve how AI understands spoken Spanish from Spain by comparing recordings with existing transcripts and making accurate editorial corrections.

This is a remote, flexible contractor role with part-time availability. Work is asynchronous and can be completed on your own schedule, with an expected commitment of 20 or more hours per week and a stated range of 10 to 40 hours per week. No prior AI or technology experience is required.

What You'll Do

You will work carefully through audio and transcript data, applying detailed editorial and formatting instructions. Accuracy, consistency, and dependable independent execution are central to the role.

  • Listen to Castilian Spanish audio recordings and compare them with existing transcripts.
  • Correct misheard words, spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, and formatting inconsistencies.
  • Verify and adjust word-level timestamps for precise alignment with the audio.
  • Apply detailed style and formatting guidelines consistently across tasks.
  • Flag unclear audio, overlapping speech, and segments needing additional review.
  • Maintain high accuracy and quality across large volumes of transcript data.
  • Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule.

Requirements

The strongest candidates will have native or near-native Castilian Spanish ability and deep familiarity with pronunciation, vocabulary, and regional nuances in Spain. You should be comfortable with repetitive precision work, exact timing, and detailed editorial rules.

  • Experience as a transcriptionist, court reporter, or stenographer.

  • Linguistics training or academic study of Iberian Spanish.
