CAD and Mechanical Design AI Training Expert

You will help train AI systems on CAD and mechanical design tasks. The work involves reading dimensioned engineering drawings, rebuilding them as accurate 3D solid models, and checking that the results are correct.

You will use Python and CAD tools to create or automate geometry. Models may include curved profiles, sweeps, lofts, fillets, chamfers, and Boolean operations.

• Interpret dimensions and geometric relationships from technical drawings.
• Translate 2D engineering schematics into accurate 3D mechanical models.
• Use Python to generate or automate CAD geometry.
• Export valid, watertight solid models in formats such as STEP.
• Validate dimensions, topology, volume, surface area, and inertia properties.
• Troubleshoot CAD models when their geometry or measurements are incorrect.

What It Pays and Takes

This is an entry-level, part-time contract role with less than 20 hours per week. Formal education is not required, but you need practical CAD and programming skills to complete precise technical work.

• $50 to $100 per hour equivalent, paid per task that meets the project specifications.

• Fluent in English.
• Strong Python programming ability.
• Hands-on experience with 3D CAD or computational geometry.
• Ability to interpret dimensioned engineering drawings and schematics.
• Strong 3D spatial reasoning and attention to geometric precision.
• Experience validating or troubleshooting CAD models.
• Helpful tools include build123d, CadQuery, FreeCAD, OpenCascade, Fusion 360, Onshape, SolidWorks, and trimesh.
