The role — Business Owner Video Data Collection Partner

OpenTrain is seeking business owners or operators who can collect authentic workplace video of hands-on tasks. You will coordinate recordings with your employees, ensure proper consent and permissions, and maintain consistent, high-quality capture across sessions.

This is a contractor, part-time role requiring 20+ hours per week. Work must take place at your active business location in the US or Canada and be captured with mobile phones. Hourly pay is $11 USD.

What you'll do day-to-day

You will coordinate and manage video capture of normal, hands-on workplace activities so AI systems can learn from authentic tasks. Safety, consent, and steady quality are central to the role.

• Schedule and organize video sessions with participating employees
• Ensure recordings depict normal work activities and meet safety standards
• Confirm and document employee consent and workplace permission to record
• Maintain consistent framing, lighting, and recording quality across repeated sessions
• Follow detailed project instructions and submit recordings as required

Requirements

This role is designed for owners or co-owners of active businesses with on-site employees and repeatable hands-on work. You must be comfortable coordinating staff, securing consent, and using mobile phones to capture video.

• Ownership or co-ownership of an active business with employees
• Active employees who can participate in workplace video recording
• Ability to obtain workplace recording permission and documented employee consent
• Regular hands-on work activities that can be recorded safely
• Comfort using mobile phones to record workplace activities
• Fluency in English and strong written communication
