About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help freelancers find projects, build a consistent portfolio of AI training work, and grow long-term careers teaching AI systems.

OpenTrain is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. You will work as a remote contractor on projects that let you demonstrate subject-matter expertise and add verified proof-of-work to your OpenTrain profile.

Why AI Training Matters

AI training (data labeling, annotation, and human feedback) is the human side of modern AI: people create, review, and refine examples that teach models how to behave. This work is highly accessible, often remote and flexible, and places contributors at the center of shaping real AI systems.

This project focuses on business operations analytics — your domain knowledge will directly influence how AI models understand KPIs, dashboards, processes, and operational decisions.

The Role

We’re looking for a Business Operations Analytics Specialist to create and evaluate document-based examples used to train generative AI. You will produce expert responses, review model outputs, and provide clear, consistent ratings and written feedback so models learn from structured human expertise.

This is a part-time contractor role, estimated at about 20 hours per week for 1–3 months. Work is fully remote and open worldwide; English fluency is required.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
  • Estimated schedule: ~20 hours/week
  • Duration: 1–3 months (project basis)
  • Languages: English required

What You’ll Do

Your work will center on documents and text-based tasks. You’ll follow project rubrics to evaluate model outputs, write or improve expert-level responses, and explain the reasoning behind your judgments so feedback is actionable for model training.

Consistency and attention to detail are crucial: many tasks repeat at scale, and your ability to apply guidelines uniformly will directly improve model behavior.

  • Write or improve expert responses and explain reasoning clearly
  • Review source materials and model outputs against project guidelines
  • Provide clear, structured explanations so feedback can be used to refine model behavior
  • Maintain high consistency and quality across repeated review tasks

Required Skills & Qualifications

You’ll need real-world knowledge of business operations analytics and strong written communication. This role accepts entry-level applicants who can demonstrate the required subject-matter competence through professional, academic, or language expertise.

Familiarity with BI tools, KPI reporting, and process documentation is important because the work asks you to judge and explain operational content accurately.

  • Relevant professional, academic, or language expertise in Business Operations Analytics
  • Experience in business operations, analytics, program management, revenue operations, supply chain, or process improvement
  • Strong proficiency with business intelligence tools, dashboards, and KPI reporting
  • Clear written communication and careful attention to detail
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and apply rubrics consistently
  • Comfort working independently on remote contractor tasks
  • Experience with AI training or rubric development is helpful but not required

Project Details: Data & Labeling

This project uses document-based data and focuses on two label types: evaluation/rating and text generation. Tasks include rating model responses against criteria and authoring improved or alternative expert responses.

You will work from provided guidelines and rubrics. No specific labeling software is mandated; training and task instructions will be supplied within the project workspace.

  • Data type: Document
  • Label types: Evaluation/Rating and Text Generation

Compensation & How It Works

Pay is per hour at $50–$60/hour. Based on the estimated schedule (20 hrs/week) and duration (1–3 months), estimated project earnings are $8,000–$9,600.

You’ll be paid as a contractor. Scheduling is flexible and you can complete tasks remotely within the project windows; you must meet quality and consistency standards described in the task instructions.

  • Payment type: Pay per hour (USD)
  • Hourly rate: $50–$60/hr
  • Estimated earnings: $8,000–$9,600 based on schedule and duration

Who Should Apply & Next Steps

Apply if you have practical business operations or analytics experience, are fluent in English, and enjoy careful, explanatory work that improves AI behavior. This role suits people who want flexible, part-time remote contractor work and who want to build verified AI training experience on OpenTrain.

To apply, create or update your OpenTrain profile, highlight relevant business analytics experience and BI skills, and submit your application through the OpenTrain project posting. Successful applicants will receive project-specific training and rubrics before starting.

  • Good fit: analysts, operations managers, revenue ops, program managers, supply-chain analysts, process-improvement specialists
  • Application tip: highlight BI tools, KPI reporting experience, and examples of process documentation or workflow analysis
