About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help people discover projects, build a unified portfolio, and grow freelance careers teaching AI how to work with real-world data.

This role is staffed and managed by OpenTrain AI. You will join a community of contributors who shape state-of-the-art models while keeping flexible, remote work arrangements.

About AI training work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people create, review, and rate examples that teach models how to perform tasks.

This project focuses on business-document expertise—your real-world scenarios and assessments directly improve model behavior in finance, presentations, reporting, and other professional workflows.

The role

As a Business Document Review Specialist you will design business-document tasks, compare AI outputs, and write detailed quality assessments that guide model improvement in professional contexts.

Work is contractor, remote, and asynchronous—ideal for experienced business practitioners who can spend focused time creating realistic tasks and clear evaluation notes.

What you will do

  • Design realistic business scenarios and task prompts based on your professional experience (financial models, presentations, reports, proposals).
  • Create complex Excel, PowerPoint, and Word tasks that reflect high-impact office work.
  • Evaluate AI-generated answers by comparing multiple model responses for accuracy, completeness, and usefulness.
  • Write detailed assessments that identify strengths, weaknesses, and concrete improvement suggestions.
  • Provide clear, structured feedback to help models handle executive communication, strategic analysis, and data-driven reporting.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with project coordinators to keep tasks authentic and diverse.

Requirements

You must meet the stated requirements below; we do not invent qualifications.

This is an entry-level posting in terms of industry classification but requires substantive business experience and technical Office skills.

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on business experience in finance, healthcare, consulting, tech, retail, or a related industry.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills for building complex models, presentations, and reports.
  • Experience supporting strategy, operations, sales, marketing, finance, or HR work in a Fortune 500 or similarly complex environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to explain assessment rationale and provide clear feedback.
  • Ability to evaluate AI-generated business responses for accuracy, relevance, and usefulness.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering or conversational interactions with language models is a plus (not required).

Helpful background

You’ll be especially competitive if you have experience designing nuanced business scenarios or preparing executive-level deliverables.

Comfort providing structured feedback on model outputs, and prior work creating financial models, executive communications, or analytical reporting will help you ramp quickly.

Pay, schedule, and work style

Pay range: $35 to $50 per hour, paid as a contractor.

Time commitment: approximately 20+ hours per week. Work is remote and asynchronous—set a schedule that fits your availability while meeting project deadlines.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Tasks are completed and submitted asynchronously via OpenTrain project workflows.

Next step

If you are comfortable creating business documentation tasks, evaluating AI responses, and drawing from your professional background, apply through OpenTrain to be considered for this role.

Prepare examples of complex Excel/PowerPoint/Word work or a brief summary of relevant projects to demonstrate your experience during onboarding.
