The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Bulgarian AI Language Evaluator to review Bulgarian AI-generated text and related prompts. You will create high-quality reference content, evaluate model responses, and explain language issues with enough precision to guide improvements.

This is a remote contractor role for freelancers located in Bulgaria. The role is listed as entry level and requires at least 20 hours per week, with independent work and flexibility across time zones. The advertised rate is up to $20 per hour.

What You'll Do

You will work across general knowledge, customer support, education, conversational writing, translation, localization, and culturally sensitive content. Your work will involve both generating strong examples and judging the quality of AI-generated Bulgarian responses.

• Create prompts and gold-standard Bulgarian answers
• Review grammar, spelling, fluency, tone, cultural fit, and prompt adherence
• Check terminology, ambiguity, logical consistency, and overall clarity
• Write precise feedback, high-quality rewrites, and model answers
• Compare and rank responses for correctness, fluency, fidelity, register, safety, terminology, and quality
• Identify mistranslations, hallucinated claims, bias, unsafe language, awkward literal phrasing, and culturally mismatched wording
• Explain language errors and recommend meaning-preserving corrections

Requirements

You should have native or near-native Bulgarian proficiency and professional English proficiency at C1 level or higher. Strong judgment in English-to-Bulgarian translation and localization is important, including terminology, natural phrasing, meaning preservation, and audience fit.

The role calls for deep knowledge of Bulgarian grammar, spelling, punctuation, Cyrillic conventions, tone, style, registers, and culturally appropriate phrasing. Candidates should also be comfortable evaluating AI-generated content and noticing subtle shifts in meaning.

• Native or near-native Bulgarian reading and writing ability
• English proficiency at C1 or higher
• Strong Bulgarian grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style knowledge
• Ability to evaluate tone, register, cultural fit, terminology, and natural phrasing
• At least three years of experience in writing, editing, translation, localization, content quality, journalism, education, or related language-focused work
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant language, writing, communications, or education field, or equivalent professional experience
• Careful attention to detail and the ability to write clear, well-supported feedback
