The Role

You will listen to short English audio clips and produce precise transcriptions while identifying specified target words and assessing audio quality. Your work will help improve speech recognition and language understanding models.

This is a contractor, part-time role that uses audio files and labeling software (OTHER). Expect to work under detailed project instructions and labeling guidelines.

What You'll Do

• Listen to spoken audio clips and transcribe speech accurately, including target words specified by the project.
• Identify and label target words or phrases within recordings according to instructions.
• Assess audio quality and note issues like background noise or low volume when required.
• Recognize and account for pronunciation variations and minor mispronunciations while maintaining transcription accuracy.
• Follow detailed labeling guidelines and submit work through the project platform.

Requirements

• Native English speaker residing in the USA or Canada (required).
• Strong listening and transcription skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience in audio transcription, linguistic annotation, or data labeling is preferred but not required.
• Comfort with spoken language variations and minor mispronunciations.
• Reliable internet connection and ability to work with audio files.
• Availability to commit at least 1 hour per day, Monday–Friday, for the next 1+ year.
• Time commitment: less than 20 hours per week (part-time).

How It Works

This role is a contractor position; exact onboarding steps and any training materials will be provided with the project. Maintain accuracy and follow the documentation supplied with each task.

Pay & Schedule

Compensation is paid per hour at the stated rate below. You will work as a contractor and track hours according to project instructions.
