About AI Training Work
AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Contributors prepare examples, write prompts, evaluate model outputs, and document reliable answers so AI systems can learn from high-quality human judgment.
This fully remote field offers flexible ways to work from anywhere with an internet connection. It is also a growing area of technology work where cultural knowledge, language ability, research skills, and careful attention to detail can directly shape AI behavior.
The Role
As an Arabic Multimodal Image Evaluation Annotator, you will create evaluation materials that test whether AI systems can identify and reason about partially hidden real-world images. Your work will focus on photographs connected to an assigned locale, including landmarks, universities, municipal buildings, products, and domestic film or media.
The role combines image sourcing, visual editing, web investigation, prompt writing, rubric design, and documentation of verified answers and evidence. This is an entry-level contractor opportunity requiring 20+ hours per week.
- Employment type: Contractor and part time
- Experience level: Entry level
- Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
- Work location: Worldwide and fully remote
- Languages: Arabic and English
What You'll Do
You will create realistic, well-documented visual challenges without revealing the identity or answer being tested. Research must be iterative and evidence-based, with clear records showing how the correct conclusion was verified.
- Source high-quality photographs relevant to an assigned locale, including local landmarks, universities, municipal buildings, products, and domestic film or media.
- Confirm that images are original, publicly available, copyright-free, or explicitly licensed, and record license type and provenance.
- Use Google Search, Google Lens, reverse image search, and other reliable sources to identify subjects from partial visual clues.
- Create cropped, masked, occluded, or degraded image versions while preserving realistic secondary clues.
- Write time-bound prompts in English without exposing the target identity or answer.
- Prepare concise, objective grading criteria and solution notes covering the ground-truth identity, research process, evidence, and expected outcome.
Required Skills
This role requires strong Arabic fluency, English writing ability, local cultural knowledge, investigative research judgment, and careful handling of image rights and evidence.
- Native or highly fluent Arabic with strong working proficiency in English.
- Ability to write prompts, rubrics, and solution notes in English.
- Strong knowledge of regionally significant, non-touristy local landmarks, universities, municipal buildings, and domestic film or media.
- Ability to conduct iterative visual and web research from incomplete visual information.
- Working knowledge of image licensing, copyright verification, and provenance documentation.
- Basic ability to crop, mask, obscure, or annotate images while maintaining realistic visual clues.
- Careful judgment when writing objective evaluation criteria without revealing answers.
Helpful Background
A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is welcome. Previous experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or related analytical work can be useful, but it is not required.
Familiarity with Photoshop, shared Google Drive folders, file naming conventions, and structured submissions is also helpful.
