- Five-week contract
- 40 hours per week, including at least four hours of Pacific Time overlap
- English-language work
About AI Training Work
AI training depends on people who can prepare realistic examples, define quality standards, and assess whether technical outputs are correct and complete. In specialized projects, subject-matter experts help shape how AI systems handle complex engineering problems.
You will contribute by turning aerospace workflows, simulations, calculations, and acceptance criteria into structured tasks that can be used to evaluate AI-generated technical work.
- Apply domain expertise to cutting-edge AI development
- Create and assess realistic engineering examples
- Work remotely with structured technical evaluation processes
The Role
As an Aerospace Flight-Dynamics AI Task Engineer, you will author and assess advanced aerospace and flight-dynamics tasks. The work combines engineering problem definition, simulation workflow development, analytical validation, and rigorous review of technical outputs.
You will create realistic problem statements and supporting assets, establish objective standards for successful results, and evaluate geometry, route, airframe, and simulation files for technical correctness and completeness.
- Build tasks for aerospace and flight-dynamics AI training
- Develop realistic simulation workflows and mission scenarios
- Translate engineering requirements into structured evaluations
- Review technical submissions against defined acceptance criteria
What You'll Do
You will use aerospace simulation and design tools to create complete, technically grounded task packages. Your work will include defining the assumptions, constraints, operating conditions, metrics, and validation methods needed for reliable evaluation.
You will also optimize designs based on simulation results, conduct analytical checks, review peer work, and document the methods, processes, and outcomes behind each task.
- Author tasks using OpenVSP, XFLR5, FlightGear with JSBSim, OpenRocket, and QGroundControl
- Develop engineering problem statements, simulation models, calculations, schematics, and technical assets
- Define inputs, assumptions, constraints, operating conditions, output metrics, and objective acceptance criteria
- Build golden geometries and mission plans
- Validate simulation results through analytical checks
- Evaluate geometry, route, and airframe files for correctness and completeness
- Optimize designs using simulation results
- Document methodologies, processes, and outcomes
Requirements
This assignment requires substantial aerospace or flight-dynamics experience and hands-on ability to script engineering or simulation workflows. You should be comfortable defining technically rigorous problems and judging whether simulation outputs satisfy objective requirements.
An MSc in Aerospace Engineering, Product Owner experience, and familiarity with process modelling are helpful but are not listed as required.
- At least five years of aerospace or flight-dynamics experience
- Hands-on scripting experience for engineering or simulation workflows
- Proficiency with at least two of OpenVSP, XFLR5, FlightGear with JSBSim, OpenRocket, and QGroundControl
- Ability to define engineering problems, assumptions, constraints, and objective acceptance criteria
- Strong analytical validation and technical quality assessment skills
- Experience with peer review and technical documentation
- Ability to communicate assumptions clearly
