What You’ll Do
You will turn technical requirements into complete simulation workflows, engineering problem statements, and reviewable outputs. The work combines flight-dynamics analysis, simulation modeling, technical writing, analytical validation, and peer quality assessment.
Author aerospace and flight-dynamics tasks and validate designs using simulation tools.
Develop engineering problem statements, simulation models, calculations, schematics, and supporting technical assets.
Build golden geometries and mission plans, then score geometry, route, and airframe files.
Validate results through analytical checks and sanity checking.
Review other engineers’ submissions for technical correctness and completeness.
Translate technical requirements into simulation models and workflows.
Optimize designs based on simulation results.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
Document methodologies, processes, and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
This role requires substantial aerospace or flight-dynamics experience and practical ability to build and assess simulation workflows. You should be comfortable working independently, defining robust engineering problems, and clearly explaining assumptions and decisions.
At least 5 years of aerospace or flight-dynamics engineering experience.
Hands-on scripting experience.
Proficiency in at least two of OpenVSP, XFLR5, FlightGear+JSBSim, OpenRocket, and QGroundControl.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently.
Experience with analytical validation and engineering sanity checks.
Strong technical documentation skills.
Experience with peer review and quality assessment.
Clear communication of assumptions and engineering decisions.
