OpenTrain AI is seeking an Aerodynamics Expert to create, solve, review, and validate reproducible aerodynamic and fluid-dynamics tasks. You will work with geometry, meshes, CFD solvers, Python automation, and engineering analysis while evaluating whether proposed solutions are numerically sound and physically valid.
This intermediate-level contractor role is designed for professionals or researchers with strong fluid mechanics and applied aerodynamics knowledge. Work is conducted in English and requires the ability to independently explain technical decisions.
You will develop and assess engineering tasks that can be reproduced, solved, and reviewed systematically. Your work will combine CFD execution, Python-based workflows, aerodynamic analysis, and careful technical validation.
Applicants should have an MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, or a Mechanical Engineering degree with a specialization in aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, or thermofluids. Alternatively, applicants may qualify with a BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering and at least 1 to 2 years of relevant professional or research experience.
You must be comfortable applying fluid mechanics and aerodynamics principles, working with CFD, and using command-line, scripting, configuration-file, or other programmatic engineering tools. Practical Python proficiency is required.
