The role
We are looking for a Welsh Language Review Specialist to review, translate, proofread, and QA Welsh-language text used in AI training. You will work as a remote part-time contractor for OpenTrain AI on text-based tasks that include translation/localization and evaluation/rating.
This role is best for someone with real-world experience working with Welsh language content who can reliably deliver clear, consistent feedback and maintain quality across repeated labeling tasks.
What you'll do
You will perform hands-on language tasks to improve model outputs and dataset quality. Tasks are text-focused and may include direct translation, linguistic edits, and rating or annotating language quality.
Review Welsh content for accuracy, tone, style, spelling, and cultural relevance.
Translate written materials between English and Welsh with attention to idiom and register.
Provide clear, constructive feedback and justification for edits and ratings.
Perform quality assurance checks to ensure consistent output across similar items.
Contribute to style guidance and examples to help standardize future reviews.
Requirements

Native or near-native fluency in Welsh (written and spoken).
Fluency in English sufficient to translate and provide written feedback.
Experience in translation, localization, editing, or content review for Welsh.
Strong understanding of Welsh idioms, norms, regional variation, and cultural references.
Excellent written communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Reliable remote work habits, good time management, and comfort collaborating with a distributed team.
