The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Video AI Training Specialist who uses professional video expertise to train and evaluate AI systems. You will analyze video content, critique AI-generated video outputs, annotate video datasets, and curate diverse clips for model training and evaluation.

This is a contract, part-time role expected to average 20+ hours per week. Work is remote and asynchronous; you will deliver written observations and structured annotations that help engineers and researchers iterate on models.

What You'll Do

• Review and critique AI-generated video outputs for accuracy, technical quality, and creative intent.
• Analyze video content for techniques, production workflows, and stylistic nuances relevant to model behavior.
• Interpret, annotate, and assess video datasets used for training and evaluation.
• Curate and tag diverse video samples across genres, formats, and production scenarios.
• Document observations clearly for cross-functional teams and participate in iterative feedback cycles.
• Stay current on video production trends and technologies to ensure relevant training material.

Requirements

You must have professional experience in a video-focused role such as editing, filming, motion graphics, visual effects, or post-production and be able to evaluate both technical and aesthetic aspects of footage.

• Professional experience in video editing, filming, motion graphics, VFX, or post-production.
• Strong understanding of video production workflows, editing software, or visual effects pipelines.
• Exceptional attention to technical and aesthetic video quality.
• Ability to provide clear, actionable written feedback on technical media work.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment and managing time across tasks.
• Collaborative mindset and ease with iterative feedback between creative and technical teams.
• Fluent English (project language is English).

Helpful Background

Prior exposure to AI, machine learning, or data annotation projects is useful but not required. Experience mentoring or documenting technical processes in the video industry will help you move faster in the role.

Compensation, Schedule, and Labeling Work

This role is paid hourly at USD $65–$80 per hour on a contract basis. Expected commitment is 20+ hours per week and work is remote and flexible. Core tasks involve video data: evaluation/rating, text feedback on outputs, and collecting or curating video samples.
