About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. OpenTrain AI engages specialists in projects that help improve how artificial intelligence systems understand, generate, and evaluate information.

  • Remote contract work with flexible project opportunities
  • Build a track record in a fast-growing AI training industry
  • Create a profile that reflects your specialist experience and completed work

About AI Legal Evaluation

AI training depends on expert reviewers who assess model outputs against real-world standards. In this project, your legal judgment will help evaluate whether AI-generated answers are accurate, relevant, complete, and useful in the context of UK commercial and contract law.

  • Review and compare responses generated by language models
  • Apply legal expertise to structured evaluation tasks
  • Provide feedback that supports the quality of legal AI systems

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a UK Commercial Contract AI Reviewer to assess how well artificial intelligence systems answer real questions of UK law. You will compare model-generated responses, score them using a standardized rubric, and explain your conclusions through concise, evidence-based feedback.

This is remote expert-review work for an initial commitment of approximately 10 hours, with potential for additional work. The structured opportunity details indicate a time requirement of 20+ hours per week, so confirm the expected schedule before beginning. All work is covered by an NDA and requires careful handling of confidential information.

  • Engagement type: Contractor, part-time
  • Location: United Kingdom
  • Work arrangement: Remote
  • Language: English
  • Compensation: USD 150–160 per hour
  • Data type: Text
  • Primary task: Evaluation and rating of AI-generated responses

What You'll Do

You will work independently through a consistent review process designed to make comparisons between AI responses clear, fair, and legally grounded.

  • Run consistent legal prompts through two language-model platforms
  • Compare the resulting answers side by side for accuracy, relevance, and quality
  • Score each response against a standardized evaluation rubric
  • Write concise feedback explaining the basis for each evaluation
  • Identify inaccuracies, omissions, and weaknesses in competing legal analyses
  • Meet applicable review standards and project deadlines
  • Handle confidential information in accordance with the project NDA

Required Qualifications

This role requires substantial practical legal experience rather than general familiarity with legal topics. Your background should enable you to assess commercial and contract-law answers accurately and explain your reasoning precisely.

  • At least five years of experience as in-house legal counsel practising in the United Kingdom
  • Strong knowledge of UK commercial and contract law
  • Experience handling commercial agreements and contract interpretation
  • Ability to compare competing legal analyses and identify inaccuracies or omissions
  • Ability to apply a standardized rubric consistently to AI-generated legal responses
  • Precise written English and close attention to legal detail
  • Sound independent judgment and dependable delivery against deadlines

Who Should Apply

This project is well suited to UK-based in-house counsel who can combine practical commercial legal judgment with disciplined, structured evaluation. Experience explaining why one legal analysis is stronger than another will be especially relevant to the review work.

  • UK in-house lawyers with commercial or contract-law experience
  • Legal professionals comfortable reviewing written analysis at a detailed level
  • Experts who can provide concise, evidence-based written feedback
  • Independent workers who can follow a rubric consistently and deliver reliably
