About AI Safety Evaluation

AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. Experts review model outputs, write examples, rate responses, and classify content so AI systems become more accurate, useful, and responsible.

In this role, your scientific judgment will help assess how advanced models handle technical and potentially dual-use topics. Your evaluations can influence whether responses are scientifically sound, appropriately cautious, and safe for users.

  • Contribute to the development of advanced AI models
  • Apply scientific expertise to real model outputs
  • Work remotely with a flexible, part-time schedule

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Turkish Scientific AI Safety Evaluator to improve the safety and quality of advanced AI models. You will work primarily in Turkish across chemistry, biology, and related scientific subject areas.

The work combines expert prompt writing, response evaluation, annotation, and structured classification across scientific conversations. You will assess whether model outputs are accurate, helpful, and appropriately cautious when they involve sensitive or dual-use information.

  • Role type: Part-time contract work
  • Schedule: Approximately 7 hours per week
  • Time requirement: Less than 20 hours per week
  • Location: Remote and open worldwide
  • Preferred location: Türkiye and the wider MENA region
  • Pay: $30-$34 per hour
  • Start: Immediate

What You'll Do

You will use advanced scientific knowledge and safety judgment to create and review training data for AI systems. Work will follow structured guidelines for evaluating model behavior and classifying scientific content.

  • Write expert-level prompts in Turkish across chemistry, biology, and related scientific areas
  • Evaluate AI responses for scientific accuracy and helpfulness
  • Assess whether responses handle sensitive and dual-use information safely
  • Annotate responses using structured guidelines
  • Classify prompts and conversations consistently
  • Apply laboratory, computational, and scientific safety practices to your evaluations

Requirements

This opportunity requires advanced scientific training and strong bilingual communication skills. An ongoing or completed PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related discipline is required.

You should be able to evaluate the accuracy of AI-generated scientific responses and make careful decisions about scientific safety, responsible information handling, and dual-use content.

  • Ongoing or completed PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related scientific field
  • Native or near-native Turkish
  • Business-level written English
  • Deep familiarity with modern laboratory or computational techniques in a specialized subfield
  • Ability to assess scientific accuracy in AI-generated responses
  • Sound judgment regarding scientific safety and sensitive or dual-use information

Helpful Background

The following experience is valuable but is not stated as required. Relevant expertise may come from laboratory research, computational science, technical-content review, or scientific safety work.

  • Chemical safety and security
  • Biosafety or biosecurity
  • Hazardous-materials handling
  • Technical-content review
  • Organic or inorganic synthesis
  • Molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics
  • Radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics
  • Grading or red-teaming technical content

Why This Work Matters

Every major AI system depends on examples prepared and reviewed by people. Scientific evaluators bring the specialized knowledge needed to identify inaccurate claims, unsafe instructions, and inappropriate handling of sensitive technical subjects.

This is a chance to apply your research expertise to cutting-edge AI development while maintaining a flexible workload that can fit alongside other professional or academic commitments.

  • Shape how advanced AI systems respond to scientific questions
  • Use your chemistry or biology expertise outside traditional research settings
  • Work remotely with a limited weekly commitment
  • Build experience in a rapidly growing AI training field
