The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Technical Sales AI Training Expert to create high-quality training and evaluation data for frontier AI models. You will apply practical sales engineering judgment to technical discovery, customer requirements mapping, solution-fit assessment, product positioning, RFP responses, technical objection handling, and complex technical communication.
The work requires careful evaluation of whether scenarios, technical specifications, and proposed solutions are realistic, accurate, and solvable from supporting documentation. You will produce expert-level technical and scientific sales tasks along with gold-standard answers.

What You'll Do
You will design realistic exercises and evaluation materials that test both technical reasoning and professional sales communication. You will also review work for accuracy and improve task quality using calibration feedback and established benchmarks.
Develop gold-standard answers for technical and scientific sales tasks
Apply grading frameworks and rubric standards consistently
Review technical inputs for accuracy, practicality, and scientific or technical realism
Incorporate detailed calibration feedback and refine task designs
Maintain quality benchmarks across training and evaluation materials
Requirements
Candidates should have approximately 3-8 years of hands-on experience in technical sales, sales engineering, scientific sales, or solutions architecture. A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required, along with a relevant STEM educational or professional background such as engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, software, or clinical sciences.
You should be comfortable interpreting complex technical specifications, assessing solution feasibility, and turning practical sales knowledge into realistic prompts, scenarios, structured rubrics, and model answers. Independent work and the ability to incorporate detailed review feedback are also important.
Technical sales or sales engineering experience, including technical discovery and customer requirements mapping
Experience evaluating customer requirements and mapping solution architecture
Strong solution-fit and feasibility judgment
Strong technical and scientific accuracy
Ability to create realistic scenarios, structured rubrics, and gold-standard solutions
Excellent written communication for technical prompts and buyer-seller scenarios
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Relevant STEM background in engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, software, clinical sciences, or a related area
Ability to work independently and respond constructively to detailed feedback
Helpful Background
