The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Technical Documentation AI Evaluation Writer to support AI training work focused on technical documentation and AI benchmark evaluation. The role involves working with technical documents, specifications, code samples, and regulatory materials to create structured human expertise, careful review, and clear written feedback.

This is an entry-level AI training opportunity for professionals whose relevant domain expertise is the priority. Prior AI training experience is not required.

What You'll Do

You will design realistic, expert-level evaluation tasks and create the supporting materials needed to assess technical problem-solving. Your work will help establish clear, rigorous benchmarks for AI systems.

• Design and author expert-level evaluation tasks using realistic technical materials and complex real-world scenarios.
• Create and curate product specifications, code samples, subject matter expert interview notes, and regulatory documentation.
• Define solution criteria and expected outputs for technical problem-solving assignments.
• Develop comprehensive, multi-point grading rubrics with at least 35 criteria.
• Assess accuracy, precision, testability, and audience alignment in technical deliverables.
• Draft documentation tasks including API references, user guides, and compliance documents.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads to refine deliverables and align them with benchmark objectives.

Requirements

You should bring professional technical writing experience and the ability to convert complex source material into precise, testable guidance. Experience may come from software, hardware, medical devices, or regulated industries.

Experience defining acceptance criteria and grading rubrics for technical assignments is required. Familiarity with benchmarking or evaluation methodologies in technical domains is beneficial.
