The role

OpenTrain AI is hiring Tamil Music AI Model Evaluators to review generative music outputs and music training data. This is an expert-level, part-time contracting role for professionals with music-production or audio-engineering backgrounds and strong Tamil language skills.

• Type: Contractor, part-time
• Commitment: 20+ hours per week
• Duration: Up to 6 months, immediate start
• Work: 100% remote, worldwide
• Pay: Hourly rate listed $19.44 (hourly range $10.80–$19.44)

What you'll do

• Listen to AI-generated music samples and rate musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal performance, and production/mix quality.
• Evaluate lyric quality, voice generation fidelity, and how well outputs follow prompts.
• Score the quality of musical training data and AI outputs using structured rating scales.
• Annotate songs with genre and sub-genre, song structure, and vocal or instrumental characteristics using a taxonomy.
• Use audio-engineering terminology to explain and justify evaluation decisions in clear written feedback.

Requirements

This role requires real-world music expertise, bilingual ability in Tamil and English, and experience judging recorded audio. Candidates must be able to read and follow instructions written in English while producing evaluations in English and Tamil.

• Native or near-native proficiency in Tamil and strong English comprehension
• Experience writing music in Tamil
• Background as a music producer, audio engineer, or sound mixer
• Proven ability to judge lyrics, vocal quality, musical performance, and mix/production quality
• Experience evaluating AI-generated music or audio samples
• Familiarity with song structure, genre classification, and music taxonomy
• Expert-level experience in music production, performance, or audio engineering (this is an expert role)

Preferred qualifications

A college degree in music is preferred but not required if you can demonstrate equivalent professional experience. Detailed, consistent evaluators with prior annotation or QA experience on audio tasks will be prioritized.
