About AI training work

AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human work that teaches models how to speak, understand, and respond. Contributors record, transcribe, rate, and refine examples that shape the behavior of voice assistants, transcription systems, and other speech technologies.

The role

We are hiring Tamil Audio Recording Specialists to produce high-fidelity spoken Tamil samples for AI training. This is an entry-level contractor role with flexible scheduling, focused on accurate pronunciation, natural fluency, and consistently clean audio suitable for model training.

• Employment: Contractor, part-time
• Time: 20+ hours/week expected
• Language: Native Tamil (ta)
• Pay: Paid per hour; range $10–$30/hr (project may pay up to $30/hr)

What you'll do

• Record Tamil audio samples using professional-grade recording equipment and software.
• Follow provided scripts and detailed recording guidelines for each session.
• Deliver clean, well-structured audio files that meet format and quality specifications.
• Ensure accurate pronunciation, natural intonation, and dialect-appropriate delivery.
• Perform self quality checks and correct or re-record segments that don't meet standards.
• Communicate with coordinators and respond to feedback promptly to refine submissions.

Requirements

• Native proficiency in Tamil with strong articulation and dialect awareness.
• Access to and experience operating professional audio recording equipment and software.
• Ability to capture clean, low-noise recordings and meet strict file/format requirements.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing error-free, review-ready audio.
• Clear written and verbal communication; responsive to feedback and revisions.
• Ability to work independently and reliably meet deadlines and weekly hour expectations.

Helpful background

• Previous experience recording voice-overs, podcasts, narration, music, or language samples.
• Familiarity with language technology, e-learning audio, or voice-activated systems.
• Comfort using DAWs, audio editors, and basic troubleshooting for mic/room setup.

How it works
