About AI Training and Data Labeling

AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. People with real-world expertise prepare examples, evaluate outputs, document processes, and provide feedback so AI models can learn to produce more accurate and useful results.

In this project, your supply chain knowledge can help create and review realistic data involving enterprise resource planning, demand forecasting, procurement, supplier performance, inventory, and reporting.

  • Apply professional judgment to realistic or hypothetical supply chain scenarios
  • Help AI systems learn how supply chain workflows and decisions work
  • Contribute directly to the development of emerging AI tools
  • Work remotely with control over your schedule

The Supply Chain Manager Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to apply hands-on domain expertise to AI training and data collection. You will use ERP platforms, demand forecasting, supplier scorecards, purchasing knowledge, and Excel analysis to create high-quality, real-world data that shapes how AI models learn and reason.

This is a flexible contractor role for someone who can work independently, communicate complex supply chain concepts clearly, and meet project deliverables in a remote setting.

  • Subject matter focus: supply chain data collection and report generation
  • Use ERP platforms including SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite at a user level
  • Create supply chain examples using real or hypothetical data
  • Analyze and communicate findings in clear written and verbal formats

What You'll Do

You will translate practical supply chain workflows and decisions into structured examples, analyses, and reports for AI training. The work combines operational knowledge with clear documentation and data interpretation.

  • Utilize SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite at a user level to support supply chain workflows and data entry.
  • Build straightforward demand forecasts and supply plans using real or hypothetical data.
  • Develop and complete supplier evaluation scorecards covering cost, quality, reliability, and service.
  • Analyze inventory and stock levels, flagging discrepancies, risks, or potential shortages.
  • Prepare clear, actionable reports using intermediate Excel functions such as pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas.
  • Combine sourcing insights with purchasing knowledge to simulate end-to-end procurement scenarios.
  • Document processes and communicate findings through concise written and verbal input.

Requirements

This role requires substantial hands-on supply chain experience, particularly in ERP use, demand planning, supplier performance monitoring, sourcing, or procurement. Although the listing includes an entry-level experience classification, the stated role requirements call for at least five years of relevant ERP experience.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with leading ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite in a supply chain context
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid background in demand planning or building supplier scorecards
  • Direct responsibility for supplier performance monitoring
  • Proficiency with intermediate Excel functions, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate suppliers using structured processes
  • Experience evaluating suppliers and managing supplier relationships
  • Experience collaborating with Purchasing Agents or working in sourcing and procurement roles
  • Ability to work independently and meet deliverables remotely

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is suited to supply chain professionals who can explain operational concepts precisely and apply structured judgment to procurement, planning, inventory, and supplier data. It may be a strong fit for professionals seeking flexible, part-time work that uses their existing expertise in a new AI-focused setting.

  • Supply Chain Managers and planning professionals
  • ERP users with SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite experience
  • Professionals experienced in demand planning or supply plans
  • Supplier performance, sourcing, or procurement specialists
  • Candidates comfortable analyzing data and presenting concise findings
  • Independent workers who can manage remote deliverables
