About AI Training Work
AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Experts prepare, review, and evaluate the data AI models learn from, helping systems produce more accurate and useful results.
Apply your professional knowledge directly to AI development
Work with real-world datasets and model-training inputs
No prior AI experience is required when you bring relevant domain expertise
The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Statistical Data Analyst AI Trainer to apply advanced statistical expertise to AI training work. You will clean, analyze, visualize, and annotate real-world datasets while documenting findings clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
This is an entry-level AI training opportunity for experienced statisticians and quantitative professionals who want to apply their existing expertise in a new, rapidly growing field.
Engagement type: Part-time contractor
Schedule: Less than 20 hours per week
Location: Worldwide, remote
Working language: English
Compensation: $60–$120 USD per hour
What You'll Do
You will contribute to the preparation and evaluation of high-quality datasets used in AI model development. The work combines statistical analysis, data quality review, dataset annotation, and concise technical communication.
Clean, preprocess, and structure complex, messy datasets using R, Python, SAS, or Stata.
Apply and document descriptive and inferential statistical analyses to identify trends and patterns in real-world data.
Create clear data visualizations that communicate key findings and support model development.
Use statistical expertise in dataset annotation, labeling, or enrichment for AI training datasets.
Write concise, well-organized summaries of methods, analyses, and results for non-technical audiences.
Collaborate asynchronously with project stakeholders to clarify requirements and improve deliverables.
Identify data quality issues and provide actionable recommendations.
Requirements
This role requires strong quantitative training and practical experience working with complex datasets. No previous AI experience is required, but you should be comfortable applying statistical methods and explaining your conclusions clearly.
