The role

OpenTrain is hiring a Spanish voice actor to record speech for TTS model training and evaluation. This is a part-time contractor role for residents of Spain with a native Castilian (Peninsular) accent.

Compensation: $50 USD per hour. Time commitment: less than 20 hours per week. Employment type: contractor, part-time. Data type: audio; label type: data collection.

What you'll do

You will record clear, natural speech across a range of scripts and styles, maintaining consistent voice quality across sessions and providing alternate takes when requested.

• Record clean voice samples for TTS and speech model evaluation.
• Deliver natural speech with controlled pacing, pronunciation, and expression.
• Keep accent, voice quality, and delivery consistent across recording sessions.
• Follow detailed recording instructions for environment, microphone setup, and file formatting.
• Provide alternate takes for different emotional or stylistic reads as directed.

Requirements

You must meet every listed requirement to be considered for this role. We will verify language, location, and recording capability during onboarding.

• Native Castilian or Peninsular Spanish speaker based in Spain.
• Intermediate experience level: experience in voice acting, dubbing, narration, podcasting, or broadcasting.
• Professional or near‑professional recording setup (quality microphone, quiet recording space).
• Strong intonation, diction, and emotional range; ability to follow scripts closely while sounding natural.
• Comfort working as a contractor, delivering recordings on schedule and following technical guidance.

Helpful background

These skills are not required but will help your application and speed up onboarding.

• Previous work recording for TTS, audiobooks, IVR systems, or AI voice datasets.
• Familiarity with audio editing tools such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper.
• Comfort delivering multiple vocal styles (conversational, corporate, energetic, calm).
