The role

We are hiring a Creative Writer (Spanish) on a remote contract basis to generate and refine dialogue for LLM chatbot training. This work focuses on producing authentic, culturally relevant, and engaging Spanish-language responses to prompts and improving AI-generated text quality.

• Pay: $25 USD per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR).
• Employment type: Contractor, part-time.
• Schedule: Flexible; minimum 10 hours/week required, preferred commitment 20+ hours/week.

What you'll do

Your primary responsibilities are writing natural, varied Spanish responses and editing AI outputs to improve clarity, tone, and cultural relevance. Tasks include producing prompt-response pairs, drafting answers to questions, and generating creative character or scenario descriptions.

• Write high-quality Spanish responses to prompts for supervised fine-tuning (SFT) and text-generation tasks.
• Draft concise professional and persuasive emails and other short-form content in Spanish as needed.
• Edit and proofread model outputs to correct grammar, tone, and dialect-specific usage.
• Incorporate US Spanish cultural nuances and regional variations to make interactions feel authentic.

Requirements

Candidates must meet all location and language requirements below; several professional preferences are listed too.

• Must currently live in the USA and have lived there full-time for at least 5 years.
• Must be a native Spanish speaker FROM the USA (US-native Spanish speaker).
• Strong command of written Spanish across styles and excellent grammar.
• Basic understanding of English to follow instructions and communicate with the team.
• Preferred: 5+ years of creative or content writing in Spanish; the role emphasizes extensive writing experience.
• Preferred: prior writing tasks on data-labeling platforms (OpenTrain, OpenTrain, Appen, OpenTrain.tech, etc.).
• Portfolio of published works in Spanish preferred but not required; bring links or descriptions to the interview.
• Experience using AI chatbot tools (e.g., ChatGPT) is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to edit and proofread meticulously.

Interview process and short test

During the interview you will be asked about your writing experience, platform experience, and education level. You should be prepared to explain years/months of relevant writing on data-labeling platforms and to share a portfolio link or descriptions of published works.

At the end of the interview a short written test will be administered: questions are provided in English and Spanish, but responses must be in Spanish. Results of this test will significantly influence your qualification score.
