About AI training and why this work matters

AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human work that teaches models how to understand language and sound. Contributors correct transcriptions, tag metadata, and apply linguistic rules so models produce more accurate, natural output.

This kind of work is remote, flexible, and accessible: many projects accept contributors without prior specialist experience if you have language fluency and attention to detail.

The role

We are recruiting Spanish (Spain) transcription and annotation contributors to review machine-generated Spanish audio transcriptions, add metadata and linguistic annotations, and validate dataset quality against project guidelines.

This is a contractor, part-time role. Expected baseline availability is 20+ hours per week. Pay is listed as $10–$20 per hour (hourly rate posted: $20/hr). Work is 100% remote and independent.

  • Position type: Contractor, Part-time
  • Time commitment: 20+ hours/week
  • Pay: $10–$20 USD per hour (posted hourly rate $20/hr)
  • Language: Fluent Spanish (Spain)

What you'll do

You will focus on improving audio and text language data by correcting and refining machine-generated Spanish transcriptions and adding consistent linguistic metadata.

  • Correct Spanish (Spain) transcriptions for accuracy, punctuation, and natural fluency
  • Add metadata tags and linguistic annotations to audio and text records
  • Validate audio and transcription quality against detailed language guidelines
  • Identify inconsistencies and suggest improvements to data quality and guidelines
  • Communicate clearly with remote collaborators about ambiguous cases

Requirements

Candidates must meet the core language and task skills below. These are required for accurate, independent work on language datasets.

  • Fluent Spanish (Spain) with strong linguistic intuition
  • Experience reviewing or producing transcriptions, annotation, or metadata tagging
  • Proven ability to assess and correct machine-generated language output
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Clear written and verbal communication for remote collaboration
  • Capacity to work independently and meet deadlines

Helpful background (not required)

The following experiences make contributors more competitive but are not strict requirements.

  • Professional transcription experience
  • Audio engineering or familiarity with audio tools
  • Previous data annotation or language-technology work
  • Studies in linguistics or related fields

How it works and how to apply
