The role

You will listen to Spanish audio clips and produce accurate text transcriptions, identify target words, and label pronunciation or audio-quality issues according to project guidelines. The data type is audio and the labeling work focuses on text generation from speech.

This is a contractor, part-time role using the LABELBOX platform. The project runs for 1+ year and requires a steady weekday commitment; onboarding includes project-specific instructions and examples.

What you'll do day-to-day

Follow precise labeling guidelines to transcribe spoken Spanish, mark target words, and note pronunciation variations or minor mispronunciations. You will also assess audio quality and flag clips that are unclear or unusable.

Work independently from home, access audio files through LABELBOX, and submit validated transcriptions according to the project's quality standards and workflow.

Requirements

The project requires native fluency and cultural familiarity with Spanish as spoken in Mexico or Argentina plus proven listening and transcription ability. Prior experience in audio transcription, linguistic annotation, or data labeling is preferred but not strictly required.

You must have a reliable internet connection and be able to work with audio files on your computer. Attention to detail and the ability to follow step-by-step labeling guidelines are essential.

Schedule, pay, and commitment

This is part-time work under 20 hours/week. You must be able to commit at least 1 hour per day, Monday–Friday, for the next 1+ year. Shifts are flexible within that weekday requirement, but regular availability helps ensure steady work.

Pay is hourly at USD 6.50 per hour, paid according to OpenTrain AI contracting terms. You will be onboarded with labeling guidelines and examples before starting paid work.
