The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an intermediate-level Creative Writer proficient in Spanish for a remote contract role focused on LLM chatbot training. You will craft authentic, culturally relevant responses to prompts and refine AI-generated text to make conversations accurate, engaging, and realistic across Spanish-speaking contexts, with particular attention to Mexico and Chile.

The work includes creative writing, question answering, text generation, and text summarization. The role is ideal for someone who combines strong Spanish writing and editing skills with an interest in language, technology, and AI development.

• Contractor position with part-time employment
• Pay: $8.21 USD per hour
• Minimum availability: 10 hours per week
• Preferred availability: 20 or more hours per week

What You’ll Do

You will write and refine dialogue based on assigned prompts, helping AI systems learn natural language understanding and effective conversational behavior. Your work will require attention to regional Spanish differences and the ability to adapt tone, style, and complexity for different communication goals.

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

Applicants should have a strong command of written Spanish, including excellent grammar and the ability to write across multiple styles. More than five years of creative writing or Spanish content creation experience is preferred but not required. Substantial writing experience in Spanish, whether professional, educational, creative, or published, is valuable.

Basic English proficiency is needed to follow instructions and communicate effectively with the team. Experience using AI chatbot tools is an advantage, but it is not essential. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate careful editing, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to improve written content.

• Strong written Spanish proficiency and knowledge of regional nuances
• More than five years of Spanish creative writing or content creation preferred
• Prior experience writing responses for AI or data-labeling projects preferred
• A portfolio of published Spanish writing preferred, but not required
• Basic English for instructions and team communication
• Experience with AI chatbot tools such as ChatGPT is an advantage
• Background in business, science, or a related field
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher
• Content creation or educational writing experience is a plus

Interview and Spanish Writing Assessment

The interview will ask about your experience writing responses to prompts or questions for AI-training projects, including the length of that experience. You may also be asked about your highest level of education and, if available, a link to your Spanish writing portfolio or descriptions of published work.

At the end of the interview, you will complete a short writing assessment. Questions will be provided in English and Spanish, and your responses must be written in Spanish. The assessment is designed to evaluate how precisely and creatively you understand and answer Spanish-language prompts.

• Describe a unique, vivid character in Spanish using creative language and at least two distinctive traits
• Write a short Spanish email to a supervisor requesting feedback on a Quarterly Financial Report, focusing on data analysis and presentation style
• Write a concise Spanish email persuading an introverted friend to be a guest speaker at a local event, highlighting two benefits and addressing one possible concern
