The Role

You will help train a chatbot to understand and produce natural Singlish. Tasks include writing, editing, and rating AI-generated text so outputs sound fluent, culturally appropriate, and true to Singlish usage while remaining clear.

This is a contract, part-time role (less than 20 hours/week). Pay is USD $23 per hour. The work is text-based and focuses on evaluation ratings and text generation tasks.

What You’ll Do Day to Day

Work on short assignments that require careful reading, rewriting, and scoring of AI responses in Singlish. You will correct wording, suggest more natural phrasings, and rate outputs for accuracy, fluency, and cultural appropriateness.

• Rewrite AI responses so they read naturally in Singlish and retain intended meaning.
• Rate model outputs for fluency, correctness, tone, and cultural fit.
• Provide clear, actionable feedback and brief examples to guide model improvement.

Requirements

We need contributors with deep, practical knowledge of Singlish plus strong English writing skills and attention to detail. Please read the qualifications carefully—these are strict because the role trains models to mirror authentic local usage.

• Fluent in Singlish (written and spoken) with strong understanding of its grammar, vocabulary, and particles like “lah,” “leh,” and “hor.”
• Native resident of Singapore: born, raised, educated, and currently residing in Singapore.
• Able to distinguish Singlish from standard English and apply the appropriate register.
• Strong English writing and comprehension to assess and refine AI-generated responses.
• High attention to detail and ability to give clear, well-structured feedback.
