The Role

As a Simplified Chinese Audio Transcript Editor, you will compare audio recordings with existing Simplified Chinese transcripts and make precise corrections. Your work will help AI systems understand spoken Chinese more accurately.

• Work with Simplified Chinese audio and transcript data
• Verify word-level accuracy and exact transcript timing
• Complete assignments independently at your own pace and schedule
• Support AI training through careful transcription evaluation and editing

What You'll Do

• Listen to audio recordings and cross-reference them with existing Simplified Chinese transcripts
• Correct wrong characters, missing words, misheard phrases, and punctuation
• Verify the exact timing and alignment of transcript segments
• Follow detailed style and formatting guidelines consistently
• Flag audio quality issues, ambiguous speech, or segments requiring further review
• Maintain high accuracy and consistency across large volumes of transcript data

Requirements and Helpful Background

You must have native or near-native Simplified Chinese proficiency across reading, writing, and listening. You should also be comfortable with word-level accuracy, timestamps, detailed formatting rules, and repetitive precision work.

No prior AI or technology experience is required. Previous experience in transcription, captioning, language studies, or annotation can be helpful but is not required.

• Native or near-native Simplified Chinese reading, writing, and listening ability
• Exceptional listening skills, including the ability to parse challenging audio
• Extreme attention to detail and a methodical, patient approach
• Comfort working with exact timing, timestamps, and word-level accuracy
• Ability to follow structured style and formatting guidelines consistently
• Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
• Helpful experience includes transcription, court reporting, stenography, subtitle editing, closed-captioning, or dubbing
• Helpful background includes linguistics, phonetics, language studies, annotation platforms, speech-to-text systems, audio editing, or transcript alignment
• Experience with Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, or other Chinese language varieties is helpful
