The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Simplified Chinese Audio Transcript Editor to improve AI speech recognition. You will listen to audio recordings, compare them with existing Simplified Chinese transcripts, correct errors, and verify word-level timing and alignment.
This is a fully remote, part-time contract role with flexible hours and task-based assignments. The expected time commitment is 20 or more hours per week, and the listed pay range is $10 to $35 per hour.

What You'll Do
You will work independently at your own pace while maintaining a high standard of accuracy across substantial volumes of transcript data. Detailed style and formatting guidelines must be followed consistently throughout each assignment.
Listen to audio recordings and compare them with existing Simplified Chinese transcripts
Correct wrong characters, missing words, misheard phrases, and punctuation issues
Verify word-level accuracy and exact timing or timestamp alignment
Follow detailed style and formatting guidelines
Flag poor audio quality, ambiguous speech, and segments needing further review
Maintain accuracy and consistency across large volumes of data
Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule
Required Skills
This role is suitable for entry-level applicants and does not require prior AI or technology experience. Success depends on strong Simplified Chinese language ability, careful listening, patience, and reliable independent work.
Native or near-native Simplified Chinese proficiency in reading, writing, and listening
Exceptional listening skills, including the ability to parse challenging audio
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to repetitive precision work
Comfort with word-level accuracy, exact timing, and timestamps
Ability to follow structured style and formatting guidelines consistently
Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
Helpful Additional Experience
