The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking a Simplified Chinese Audio Transcript Editor to correct and polish existing audio transcripts. You will listen to recordings, compare them with Simplified Chinese text, and make precise corrections to support AI systems that understand spoken Chinese.
This is an entry-level, part-time contractor role with 20+ hours per week. Work independently on your own schedule at a rate of $10-$35 per hour.

What You'll Do
You will review transcript data carefully and apply detailed formatting and style requirements. The work requires sustained attention to word-level accuracy, timing, and consistency across large volumes of audio content.
Listen to audio recordings and compare them with existing Simplified Chinese transcripts
Correct wrong characters, missing words, misheard phrases, and punctuation errors
Verify word-level accuracy and the exact timing and alignment of transcript segments
Follow structured style and formatting guidelines consistently
Flag poor audio quality, ambiguous speech, and segments needing further review
Maintain accuracy and consistency across large volumes of transcript data
Complete task-based assignments independently at your own pace and schedule
Requirements
You must have native or near-native Simplified Chinese proficiency across reading, writing, and listening. Success in this role depends on careful listening, patience with repetitive precision work, and the ability to follow detailed instructions without close supervision.
Native or near-native proficiency in Simplified Chinese
Exceptional listening skills for parsing speech, including challenging audio
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in word-level corrections
Comfort working with timestamps and audio alignment
Ability to follow structured style and formatting guidelines
Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working independently
Helpful Background
Previous experience is helpful but not required for this entry-level opportunity. Relevant experience can include transcription, subtitle or caption editing, speech-to-text review, or other work requiring precise language and audio judgment.
Transcriptionist, court reporter, or stenographer experience
Subtitle editing, closed-captioning, or dubbing experience
Education in linguistics, phonetics, or language studies
Experience with annotation platforms, data-labeling tools, or speech-to-text systems
