OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect contributors with meaningful work that helps shape modern AI systems and provide the training and tools you need to succeed.
This role is contracted and managed by OpenTrain AI. You will be part of a global community of annotators who work remotely and contribute directly to how AI learns from human examples.
About AI training and why it matters
AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human work behind modern AI: people listen, transcribe, mark segments, and label audio so models learn to understand language and sound. Many projects are remote, flexible, and accessible to beginners.
Contributors often choose this work for flexible hours, remote location, and the chance to influence how state-of-the-art systems behave. This audio project focuses on Gujarati language data and does not require prior annotation experience.
The role
We are seeking native Gujarati (Standard) speakers to join an audio annotation project. This is an entry-level, contractor position with part-time hours. Training will be provided and all labeling is done in OpenTrain's internal proprietary tooling.
Work is remote and available worldwide. You should be available to work 3–5 hours per day and at least 20 hours per week.
Contract type: Contractor, part-time
Work mode: Fully remote (worldwide)
Time commitment: 3–5 hours/day, 20+ hours/week
Pay: Fixed price of USD 100 for the project (see application for scope and payment schedule)
What you'll do (tasks)
Your day-to-day work will involve listening to short audio clips and performing two primary labeling tasks: classification and segmentation. You will follow detailed instructions and use the internal annotation tool to record labels and segment timestamps.
Training materials and examples will be provided. Tasks include careful listening, accurate transcription where required by instructions, marking segment boundaries, and ensuring labels meet quality guidelines.
Listen to audio clips in Gujarati and apply labels per instructions
Transcribe speech when the task requires it and verify accuracy
Mark segment start/end times for segmentation tasks
Track progress and task status in Google Sheets as required
Requirements
Candidates must be native speakers of Gujarati (Standard). This project requires attention to detail and the ability to follow written labeling instructions closely.
No prior annotation experience is required; training will be provided. You must be ready to begin work and comfortable using Google Sheets for simple task tracking.
Native fluency in Gujarati (Standard)
Availability to work 3–5 hours daily and 20+ hours weekly
Basic familiarity with Google Sheets
Willingness to complete training and follow quality guidelines
Please apply only if you are ready to start and commit to the stated hours
How to apply and next steps
If this role fits your skills and availability, apply now. Provide confirmation that you are a native Gujarati speaker, can work the stated hours, and are comfortable with Google Sheets. Expect a short onboarding session and training before you begin labeling.
Successful applicants will be given access to the internal annotation tool and receive payment as a fixed USD 100 amount for the project according to OpenTrain AI's payment schedule.
Application should state native Gujarati fluency and your weekly availability
You will complete onboarding and training before starting work
