The role

You will listen to Tamil audio recordings and produce accurate annotations that help train speech and language models. This is an entry-level contractor role open worldwide to native Tamil speakers.

Work is performed using OpenTrain AI’s internal proprietary annotation tooling and must follow the detailed guidelines provided for the project.

What you'll do

Daily tasks focus on careful listening and consistent application of annotation rules. You will split recordings into speech segments, label segments by category, and transcribe spoken content where required.

• Listen to audio recordings and identify speech segments (segmentation).
• Classify segments according to the provided label set (classification).
• Transcribe speech accurately and follow formatting rules in the guidelines.
• Record or track progress using Google Sheets when requested.
• Follow project-specific guidelines to ensure consistent, high-quality labels.

Requirements

No prior annotation experience is required: this project is entry-level but asks for reliability and attention to detail.

• Native Tamil speaker (fluency in reading/listening Tamil required).
• No prior experience needed — beginners welcome.
• Available to work reliably about 3–5 hours daily.
• Basic ability to use Google Sheets for simple tracking tasks.
