About this role

OpenTrain is recruiting for a Russian AI Safety Evaluator to help improve how advanced AI models respond to sensitive topics. You will create expert-level prompts in Russian, evaluate model prompts and conversations, apply structured classification guidelines, and identify adversarial phrasing or escalation patterns. The work combines Russian language expertise, cultural judgment, careful written reasoning, and practical review of safety-related model behavior.

What you will do

You will write expert-level prompts in Russian across sensitive subject areas. You will classify prompts and conversations using structured guidelines, flag adversarial phrasing and escalation patterns, document the reasoning behind evaluation decisions, and apply language fluency and cultural judgment to assess sensitive model behavior.

Required skills

Candidates should have native or near-native fluency in Russian, business-level written English, strong written reasoning, close attention to detail, and sound judgment when working with sensitive and dual-use information. A bachelor's degree, completed or in progress, is required. Prior AI or machine learning experience is not required, and workflow training is provided.

Helpful background

Experience reviewing or grading written or technical content is helpful, as is a background in trust and safety, content moderation, policy evaluation, or adversarial testing. Familiarity with Russian-speaking communities or the wider Eastern Europe region is also useful, but applicants from other locations are welcome.

Schedule, location, and pay

This is remote, part-time contractor work with a default commitment of 7 hours per week. The pay rate is $38‑$42 per hour. Eastern Europe is preferred, but applicants based elsewhere are welcome.
