About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the centralized, open platform where AI training and data-labeling freelancers find work, consolidate opportunities across platforms, and build a unified AI training portfolio they control. We make specialized AI training work easier to track, apply for, and grow into a durable freelance career.
About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting a contractor to review and annotate video sessions of robotic arms completing real-world tasks. You will turn complex visual activity into structured events by identifying actions, object interactions, state changes, outcomes, errors, and other moments that help train and evaluate AI systems. The work applies systems thinking commonly used in game design and gameplay development to robotics-focused video data, with an emphasis on consistent interpretation and precise annotation.
What you will do
You will review video footage of robotic arms performing real-world tasks against detailed annotation and grading guidelines. You will identify actions, object interactions, state changes, task outcomes, errors, and other relevant events in each video segment. You will interpret action sequences, system states, cause and effect, and success or failure conditions. You will use dedicated annotation tools to tag video content accurately and consistently, flag ambiguous moments, and explain your reasoning in concise written notes. You will also review annotations, provide constructive quality-control feedback when requested, and complete assigned batches accurately within established deadlines.
Required skills
Candidates should have a professional or academic background in game design, gameplay development, technical game design, game QA, or a related field. You should understand action sequences, object states, interactions, rules, and cause-and-effect relationships. Experience reviewing, testing, debugging, or documenting gameplay behavior is relevant. Strong visual reasoning, excellent attention to detail across repetitive visual review tasks, consistent application of detailed criteria, and clear written communication are required.
Helpful background
Experience with data annotation, visual quality assurance, AI training projects, or robotics is helpful but not required. Prior AI or robotics experience is not necessary when you can reason clearly about visual events, states, and outcomes.
Work arrangement
This is a remote contractor opportunity available across North America, Latin America, Europe, the United Kingdom, and Oceania. The role centers on video annotation for AI training rather than traditional game development.
Why work with OpenTrain
OpenTrain gives freelancers one place to manage AI training opportunities instead of rebuilding proof of work on every platform. A stronger OpenTrain profile helps you show credible experience, discover roles that match your skills, and turn AI training and data-labeling work into a long-term portfolio.
