About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect contributors with practical, remote work that helps shape how modern AI systems are trained and evaluated.

OpenTrain supports flexible, remote, entry-friendly opportunities where contributors learn new skills, grow portfolios, and work on real projects across the AI stack. This role is posted through OpenTrain to find talented front-end developers who can deliver high-quality UI code quickly.

About the Work and Industry

AI training and data-labeling work includes building and refining examples that teach models how to behave. Front-end development projects are often part of that workflow — creating interfaces, dashboards, and demo apps that demonstrate model behavior or collect structured inputs.

This project is a short-term, high-impact development engagement: you will implement UI components and small applications that follow strict structure, responsiveness, accessibility, and aesthetic guidelines.

The Role

We’re hiring contract React/Next.js developers with strong Tailwind CSS and Shadcn/UI experience to complete UI development tasks under a tight deadline. Work is remote and part-time (less than 20 hours/week).

Tasks vary from single-page components to multi-component apps and dashboards. You must be able to follow detailed instructions about code structure, accessibility, responsiveness, and visual polish.

  • Employment: Contractor, part-time
  • Workload: Under 20 hours/week, flexible scheduling
  • Location: Worldwide, fully remote
  • Start: Immediate availability required
  • Deadline: All assigned work must be completed by Wednesday, March 26

What You’ll Do

Implement user interfaces using React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Shadcn/UI components according to precise specs. Deliver production-quality code that is responsive, accessible, and consistent with supplied design/aesthetic requirements.

Integrate mock API data, build forms, charts, and multi-component layouts as required. Ensure code organization and component structure match the client’s instructions so deliverables are review-ready.

  • Build single-page UIs, dashboard-style apps, and multi-component pages
  • Follow instructions for responsiveness, accessibility (a11y), and code structure
  • Use mock API data or local fixtures to demonstrate component behavior
  • Deliver clean, documented code suitable for client review

Compensation & Task Payment

Pay is hourly at USD 17 per hour, but you will be paid only for tasks that the client approves. Approved tasks are compensated at fixed hours by difficulty level.

Approved task compensation: Easy = 2 hours, Medium = 3 hours, Hard = 6 hours. You are paid based on approved task difficulty rather than estimated time spent; unapproved work is not paid.

  • Hourly rate: $17 USD per approved hour
  • Approved-task fixed hours: Easy (2h), Medium (3h), Hard (6h)
  • Payment only for client-approved tasks

Requirements

This role requires demonstrable, hands-on experience using both Next.js and Shadcn/UI together in real projects. If you cannot show work that uses both, you do not qualify for this role.

Additional required skills: proficiency with React and Tailwind CSS; ability to follow detailed instructions for structure, accessibility, and visual design; good communication and responsiveness during a tight deadline.

  • Strong React and Next.js experience (real project usage required)
  • Proven Tailwind CSS proficiency
  • Hands-on experience with Shadcn/UI components used in production or demo apps
  • Ability to start immediately and commit to the March 26 completion deadline
  • Entry-level applicants acceptable if requirements above are met

How to Apply

When you apply, include links to repositories or live examples that specifically show Next.js and Shadcn/UI used together. Describe your exact contributions and responsibilities for each example — do not submit generic portfolio links without context.

Also state your immediate availability, confirm you can complete assigned work by Wednesday, March 26, and briefly explain how you manage tight deadlines. Applications that answer only yes/no will be returned; provide concrete examples and short explanations.

  • Provide repo links or live demos that use Next.js + Shadcn/UI together and explain your role
  • Confirm immediate start and ability to finish tasks by March 26
  • Explain your approach to meeting tight deadlines and communicating progress
  • Candidates lacking demonstrable Next.js + Shadcn/UI experience will not be considered

Wrap-Up

This is a short-term, practical contract for developers who can quickly produce well-structured, accessible UI code with Next.js, Tailwind, and Shadcn/UI. The role suits builders who thrive under tight timelines and can show real project examples.

Thank you for your interest — please apply with concrete examples, a clear availability statement, and a brief plan for meeting the March 26 deadline.
