About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting for a Quantitative Finance AI Research Evaluator to create expert-level training data and assess AI-generated quantitative finance responses for accuracy and relevance. This project-based role applies advanced knowledge of mathematical finance, risk modeling, quantitative methods, and financial research to improve the quality of AI systems. The work is remote, flexible, and asynchronous, with hourly compensation of up to $150.

What you will do
- Create expert-level training data grounded in quantitative finance research and academic knowledge
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy, relevance, and alignment with quantitative finance methodology
- Apply judgment across topics such as computational finance, portfolio management, risk management, statistical finance, trading, and market microstructure
- Provide clear written feedback that helps improve AI understanding of quantitative finance research
- Work independently and asynchronously while maintaining careful attention to detail

Required skills
- PhD or Master's degree in Quantitative Finance, Mathematical Finance, or Financial Engineering
- Familiarity with arxiv.org, especially the Quantitative Finance repository, q-fin
- Strong written communication and research skills
- Ability to assess technical content for accuracy and relevance
- Ability to work independently with careful attention to detail

Helpful background
- Research or coursework in computational finance or mathematical finance
- Experience with portfolio management or risk management
- Background in statistical finance, trading, or market microstructure

Working arrangement
This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be taken on alongside other commitments. The schedule is flexible and asynchronous, with contributors commonly working approximately 5-20 hours per week when participating in an active project. No prior AI experience is required.
