The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking expert QA Engineers to join its contractor network. You will use your QA fundamentals, testing experience, and background in human data workflows to review, evaluate, and improve technical outputs.

This is a remote contractor engagement expected to run for 3 to 6 months. The role requires fluent English proficiency and expertise in software testing, QA automation, and AI technical evaluation.

What You'll Do

You will combine hands-on testing skills with structured evaluation and written feedback. Your work will help project teams identify issues, apply consistent quality standards, and improve technical output quality.

  • Design and execute test cases for functional, regression, and edge-case scenarios.
  • Perform manual and automated testing.
  • Document test results with clear, reproducible steps.
  • Identify, log, and track bugs using structured reporting.
  • Evaluate and rate technical outputs against defined quality criteria and rubrics.
  • Provide detailed written feedback and annotations to improve output quality.
  • Collaborate with project teams to refine evaluation guidelines and testing standards.

Required Expertise

This role is intended for experienced QA-specialized engineers who can communicate technical findings clearly and apply testing principles consistently. Professional experience in a QA, software development engineering in test, test engineering, or similar role is preferred.

  • Professional experience as a QA Engineer, SDET, Test Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of test case design, bug tracking, regression testing, and manual and automated testing.
  • Expertise with bug tracking systems and test management tools.
  • Subject-matter expertise in software testing, QA automation, and AI technical evaluation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex findings clearly in written reports and verbal discussions.
  • Fluent English proficiency.
