The Role
OpenTrain AI is expanding its expert network and seeking QA-specialized engineers for high-volume engineering evaluation work. As a QA Engineer contractor, you will use your testing experience and familiarity with human data workflows to review, evaluate, and improve the quality of technical outputs.
This expert-level project is expected to run for 3 to 6 months. The role is remote and available to candidates based in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Nigeria, Japan, Indonesia, or India. Fluent English proficiency is required.

What You'll Do
You will combine hands-on QA fundamentals with structured technical evaluation. Your work will include testing, documenting, rating, and explaining findings so project teams can improve both technical outputs and the standards used to assess them.
Design and execute test cases for functional, regression, and edge-case scenarios
Perform manual and automated testing
Document testing results with clear, reproducible steps
Identify, log, and track bugs using structured reporting
Evaluate and rate technical outputs against defined quality criteria and rubrics
Provide detailed written feedback and annotations to improve output quality
Collaborate with project teams to refine evaluation guidelines and testing standards
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
This role is intended for experienced QA professionals who can analyze complex technical findings, communicate them clearly, and maintain a high standard of accuracy. Prior professional experience in quality assurance or a closely related engineering testing role is preferred.
Professional experience as a QA Engineer, SDET, Test Engineer, or in a similar role
Strong understanding of test case design, bug tracking, regression testing, and manual and automated testing
Expertise with bug tracking systems and test management tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Keen attention to detail
Ability to communicate complex findings clearly in written reports and verbal discussions
Proactive, self-motivated approach
Commitment to quality, collaboration, and continuous learning
Fluent English proficiency
